James, the follower of Jesus, once said, "Everygood gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17, KJV. It's Father's Day. Since I butchered my opportunity to share an apropos thought on Mother's day, I am not going to do that for Father's day. So, no worries...I will not be discussing circumcision.

Amit Ray states it best when he said, "There is no teacher equal to mother and there's nothing more contagious than the dignity of a father." While it is possible that many of our fathers have no dignity and are far from the existence of that word...you have a Heavenly Father whose dignity has been demonstrated in the most powerful way...saving your life!

My experience of becoming a Father started over 20 years ago. When I held Isaiah for the first time and he peed on me...I knew that I desired to be the best dad he could every have. I'm not sure how I'm doing that goal, but it will remain my goal until I die. My love for my kids is great. Even when they drive me nuts!

If my earthly love is great, our Heavenly Father's love is greater! Jesus spoke of His Father's love. In fact, we have a song that many of us have learned about the love of God. "Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us...that we should be called the sons of God..." That's a great song that reminds us of the love of God.

This Father's Day, may you take the time to wish your earthly father well. If you can't, then take the time with your Heavenly Father to allow Him to change, transform, and alter your life to be more like what He desires of you. May you take time this Sabbath to connect to your earthly and/or your Heavenly Father.

So until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives.
