How many ways are there to clean you car? Many! That's the answer. You can either take it to a car wash. You can wash the car yourself. You can hire your child to wash the car. You can hire a grandchild to wash it. You can never wash it. There are so many ways to wash your car. While this is true, there is something else that is a truism.
There are at least three items that will be used in every way to wash a car - water, soap, and a scrub. Without those items, you can't really wash a car. Those three items become a must and the "only" way you can really wash a car. What if the same is true with sin? Sin is defined as "...the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4, KJV.
How many ways are there to remove sin from our lives? Many. That's the answer. But fundamentally, there's "only" one way. Humanity may come up with different methods to remove sin...and they have... but there is only one way...Jesus is that way. He is the water, soap, and scrub we need to cleanse our spiritual lives from the sin that so easily besets us.
Today you will hear of the Egyptian way or god that set the minds of the Egyptians to believe that they were free from sin. But, the reality is that though it is a "way" or a "manner" of being freed from sin, there is only one way God desired to teach that to the Egyptians and He desires to teach that to you today.
"That's so exclusive..." I have heard it said. Yes, it is. God teaches the Israelites and the Egyptians that He is exclusively the only ways to have your sins washed away. And when they are washed away...you are free! John say it this way, "if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36, KJV.
