"It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold:” Every year we are reminded of the greatest gift God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have offered to humanity— salvation through the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem!
What is your Christmas wish this year? Better health? Your family? Your finances? What is it that you cannot live without? What if I told you that everything you can think of are all things you can live without. Sure, it might be tough and uncomfortable, but still possible to live without the things we may wish for.
There is something, however, which mankind must have to live. In fact, this something is like the oxygen you breathe. Just as everyone needs oxygen, you need HOPE! That is the “thing” you cannot live without. A person who has lost all hope is a person who sees no reason to live.
This Christmas season, as you and your loved ones enjoy the company of each other, may you remember that the greatest gift ever given to mankind has been HOPE expressed in the song mentioned above. The stanza finishes this way, “Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven’s all-gracious King.”
Jesus, that gracious King is desiring the best for you and your family this Christ- mas season. May you be richly blessed with the knowledge that you have a hope that no one can take from you and the promise of a fulfilling life ahead. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
