WOW! I know! Is it just me or are you reading another Father's Day Telegram this Sabbath? It seems like last week that you were reading last year's message! Time is flying by. As a father of three kids (well, now 2 young adults and one teenager), I am reminded very day how fast time flies by. Why I remember . . .
On Facebook, that social media platform relegated to the older generation of humans, I get a reminder of a photo that I posted many, many years ago. Usually, they are photos of my kids when they were younger. I have one that was on Facebook of my daughter doing our family devotional one night. She set up the piano stool at her pulpit and told us the story of Moses.
Granted, it wasn't the King James Version story, nor any other version for that matter, but it was her rendition of what happened to Moses. We laughed so hard that night. Just writing this makes me nostalgic. Reminiscing on the memories of the past is how one keeps them fresh in the present. On this Father's Day, my ultimate prayer is that you find the joy that is . . . your family.
While all of our families are like the crayons in a box (many different colors and shades), there is something that holds true . . . all crayons color. Even broken crayons. Now, while the color may not look like it will be a blessing, it will still leave its mark. What mark is your family leaving for our world today? That question convicts me. I desire to have my family leave an indelible mark on our world.
However, my reality is that we are leaving a mark, I'm just not sure it's transformative. Perhaps you feel the same way. As a Father, perhaps you feel that there shouldn't be a day celebrating your role in the family. Perhaps your family is lackluster or that's how you see it. Let me share with you this reality . . . Our families may not be what they should be, but they are definitely not what they were!
With each passing day, we have an opportunity to change the course of our families. If not a blessing to our world now, you . . the Father . . . can change that today! Choose Christ, let him rule your life. Let him control every recess of your life and watch . . . your life become that which God has ordained it to be . . . a true blessing to humanity!
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives.
