Have a Service That Attracts God

If you were here last Sabbath, you heard Pastor Kruger's challenge. What was that challenge? "Instead of designing a church service to attract people, have a service that attracts God. He will draw the people." With that in mind, we have an opportunity today to participate in a church service that attracts God . . . Communion.

And how exactly does Communion attract God? During the ancient Biblical times of Yom Kippur, the Children of Israel were ordered to "Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your woulds, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord." Lev. 23:27, KJV

This day of atonement was a time of preparation, searching, and total consecration to the Holy God of Israel. Question, do you think God was absent when His children were committing themselves totally to Him? Most definitely not! He was there. He was present. He saw the hearts and minds of the desires of His children. That service in ancient times . . . attracted God!

Communion, although not an exact representation of the Day of Atonement, is a time for everyone participating to prepare their hearts, search their lives and totally consecrate themselves to the Master Jesus! Whenever God's children, living in 2025, participate in this type of service . . . where do you think God is? Hiding? Busy? Somewhere else? No, He's right here with us as we dedicate everything to the Master.

This Sabbath is a special Sabbath. A time to come near to God. A time to prepare our hearts for the indwelling of His Spirit. A time to search our lives to see if there is something we are needing to do to bring honor and glory to the Master Jesus. And ultimately, a time to totally consecrate our lives to the Master and His cause.

May you this Sabbath find that the greatest decision you can make today is to fully surrender to the love of your live! Yes, Jesus, the sweetest name of all. Jesus our King, Savior, Friend, Confidant, Master . . . our God. May you this Sabbath find this to be true.

So, until he next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives.
