What Is Good News?

What's good news? Well, if you've kept up with the national news lately, any news that does not border on chaos and disaster is good news. If you are a reader of the local news, perhaps a new birth or the capture of a local miscreant is good news. But what if there is such a thing as "great" news!

The Bible shares this thought, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16, KJV. What's the great news? God loves us! As Adventist Christians we have heard this truth all our lives. But could hearing something all our lives lose its meaning and importance?

Unfortunately, yes. It happens to the best of us. When something is repeated too often, the significance of the "thing" loses its meaning. For many in the church . . . Communion has lost its meaning. So much so the many upon hearing that it's communion will not come to church. "Today, would be a great day to visit another church . . . "

What can renew that meaning and importance on the greatest news known to man? Many answers come to mind, however, what we are going to hear today with Pastor Lloyd's thought will add to the much-needed revival of the greatest news known to man . . . God loves us so much!

This Sabbath, as we sit with our loved ones and worship together the Almighty God, may you remember the greatest news that can be shared is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our salvation from a lost condition that has no other remedy but that which God has provided. May you find the meaning and importance of this truth for your lives today!

So, until the next time this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do changes lives!
