What makes a great story? Perhaps it's the beginning of the story. Like, "Once upon a time . . . " Or perhaps it's the body of the story that makes it great. Like all of the details leading up to the climax of the story. I would argue that what makes a story great is the ending. How does a story end? While all components of a story are essential to the story, the ending leaves a lasting impression to the human mind.
Here is the story of Scripture. God created a perfect world in which He placed the first humans to care and tend over His newly created masterpiece. Satan, an angel turned foe, is cast down to this earth and tempts the first humans to sin against God. This sin against God creates a temporary but devastating separation between God and His creation.
In order to unify that which was broken by sin, God sent His only begotten Son to save our fallen world. Living with His creation for 3 1/2 years, Jesus died on a Roman cross bearing our sins upon His body and fulfilling the sacrifice needed to secure eternal salvation for all those who believe in Jesus.
This story happened centuries ago. Some have argued that it has been over 6,000 years. Others argue that this story is older. It really doesn't matter all that much how old this story is . . . how does it end? How is God going to unify the sinner with the Savior? How will this pain-filled world finally find a solution?
This Sabbath, you will hear the end of the story! An ending to this great controversy that has plagued our world for far too long. May you this Sabbath realize the blessing of this 25th fundamental belief of the SDA church. May you understand what God is asking of you today. May you respond to the longing call of the Master Jesus upon your heart.
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
